It is done
Wednesday, 1 February 2017 16:36 Well, I've done it. I officially no longer have a Livejournal at all. (Well, they give you 60 days to reverse the decision. But I did push the button.) Felt weird about it, and took a while to work myself up to it. But then I realized I had posted all of twice during the entirety of 2016, so it's not like I was depending on it anyway.
The thing that tipped me over about deleting it (besides people I trust on security matters doing the same) is that the risk isn't just to my own posts. It's to every post I read, locked or unlocked, and all the profile information attached. My friends could be exploited through me. People could be DOXXED through me.
(If you don't know the security issues regarding LJ, Uncle Google will tell you all.)
I've had a Wordpress account forever that I haven't done anything with. I might start using that as my main blog and just crosspost here. Not sure yet. Partly depends whether I have the spare spoons to get it going.
